A Little Bit Independent
Before the record player made its way into everymans home people actually bought the chart entries as sheet music - to be played in the company of good friends during that Friday evening Soire.

This gloriously titled gem from the late 30’s was picked up at the Market a couple of weeks ago. The opening line - “Will you permit me to say I’m dying to pet you…” sets the tone for an upbeat ukulele number from a time before Womens Lib.

One good and one bad bottle of wine, where the bad bottle of wine is quite a good bottle of wine, is a good recipe for an early night - the first in your thirtyfirst year.

Peeping T610
Being a follower of fashion I recently laid my hands on a Sony Ericsson T610, a phone sporting a colour screen, bluetooth, built in camera and an excellent multiplayer Mini Golf game.
As well as these fine features the phone comes with a small detachable mirror the size of a button, that should be placed right next to the camera lens, making it possible to see your face as your shot is being taken.
The excellent movie Peeping Tom, starring Carl Boehm as Mark Lewis, a serial killer intent on murdering prostitutes, was released in 1960, and caused such hostile reactions that it was pulled from the Cinemas after only a week. Twenty years later it was rediscovered and became an art house classic.
“Mark lives to photograph the final death throes of his victims. Turning a mirror toward their faces, he forces his victims to see their own fear before plunging a spike/tripod leg into their throats. He wants to capture the perfect image of fear on film.”
I knew I had seen this mirror trick somewhere before.

It’s great weather we’re having, isn’t it. Record temperatures. Over 100 degrees there the other day so it was. No, Fahrenheit. You have to divide and then subtract 38.
Oh, I don’t know. It’s the Global Warming, so it is. We’re getting Malaria next year, so we will. No, it’s tan from a bottle.

Got Clack
Starting this week I shall attempt to catalogue and classify all non-edible items purchased in the local Friday morning market.
Last Friday I made two finds, a Classic GameBoy with battery pack, but without any games and
an AGFA Clack camera with faux snake skin exterior and a roll of film still inside.

GameBoy: £ 1.00 Clack: £ 4.00 Total: £5.00
