Are there any other uses for licorace besides eating it?

Are there any other uses for licorace besides eating it? I hate the taste of licorace!
Licorace-phobe

Dear Licorace-phobe
Contrary to your persuasion, "Glycyrrhiza glabra", or Licorice is considered a delicacy in many parts of the world. You should give it another chance!

Licorice has a restorative effect on the adrenal cortex, supporting the stress response and is used in cases of chronic stress, and adrenal exhaustion. It also has an anti-inflammatory effect on the body by enhancing the effects of cortisone. Large doses however, can cause water retention, and make you swell up like a blowfish.

China's Bayingolen province, a "prefecture which enjoys a name of licorice kingdom" is producing 5,000-10,000 tons of Licorice annually. The licorice ointment made from the local korla licorice root is of such superior quality that it is the only choice for discerning Licorice Ointment consumers in Japan and the united states of America.
