Why was my girlfriend fine in the morning?

Dear Mountie

I recently went crazy on a pan of pot brownies with my girlfriend.
After one quarter of the pan, plus a couple alcohol beverages, I was depleted. The next morning, I could not get out of bed due to black outs and feeling like my body was failing. I called her in the morning and she was completely fine. Any reasons for this?
